IMMEDIATE OPENING – PHYSICAL THERAPIST

California Animal Rehabilitation (CARE) is seeking to add a full-time (4 days / 32 hours per week) veterinary rehabilitation physical therapist to our team in West Los Angeles.

CARE’s vision is to fill the health gap that exists in GP Veterinary medicine by providing integrative care. As the only facility in Los Angeles that pairs veterinarians certified in acupuncture and rehabilitation with Doctors of Physical Therapy certified in canine rehabilitation, California Animal Rehabilitation represents the gold standard in the field. We provide an emphasis on gentle patient approaches, client education, and prevention.

We offer free training and mentorship in a busy, but rewarding atmosphere with a fantastic work/life balance.

Job Description:

Animal physical therapists provide rehabilitative care and develop treatments plans for animals who have had surgery, been injured or suffer from chronic pain. Physical therapy can speed an animal’s recovery and improve its quality of life. As part of this role, you will act as a case manager and supervise a team of veterinary physical therapy aides to insure that treatments are executed according to plan and best practices.

Animal physical therapists employ much of the same treatments, such as exercise rehabilitation, aquatic therapy, massage, ultrasound therapy, heat therapy, passive range of motion activity, neuromuscular stimulation and cryotherapy, as do physical therapists who treat humans.

Candidates with one year of human physical therapy experience will be considered. Prior experience in the veterinary field is helpful, but not necessary.

Physical therapist state licensing is required.
