Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is currently seeking a veterinarian with a CCRP and experience in veterinary rehabilitation to be our new Rehabilitation Director.  Work with the best and join us in our brand-new state of the art 51,000 sq ft facility!  GCVS values innovation and individuality at the practice level, while recognizing the power of collaboration. We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for advancing our Rehabilitation and Fitness department.  Preference may be given to applicants certified in sports medicine and/or acupuncture or are in the process of gaining certification.

The Gulf Coast Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness department has been in existence for over 16 years and has a robust internal and external referral caseload. The rehabilitation department is visibly housed front-and-center in our brand new, state of the art hospital. The department has two brand new Tudor underwater treadmills (which can also be used as dry treadmills), therapeutic ultrasound, Class IIIB and Class IV therapeutic LASERs, electrical stimulation (in-house and home units), and a multitude of therapeutic balance equipment to allow for a full spectrum of treatment modalities. The Rehabilitation Director will be responsible for overseeing the department and establishing appropriate rehabilitation plans for patients based on injury and condition, in collaboration with GCVS specialists and referring veterinarians. The Rehabilitation Director will also oversee a tenured support staff, including an LVT who is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner from the University of Tennessee with 5 years of experience in the department.

Founded in 1989, Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists has boarded specialists in 12 departments and over 55 full time veterinarians. GCVS partnered with the Compassion-First Pet Hospitals in 2016 to accelerate its growth and network with other best-in-class specialty and emergency hospitals. GCVS has a 1.5 T MRI, 64 slice CT, a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system capable of advanced radiation therapy modalities as well as an Interventional Radiology Suite. GCVS currently has specialty practices in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Dentistry and Oral Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Allergy, Avian and Exotics, Cardiology, and Anesthesiology.  In addition to our specialty services, GCVS operates a 24/7/365 emergency service within the specialty hospital.
