The Canine Arthritis, Rehabilitation, Exercise, and Sports Medicine (CARES) Center
5th Annual CARES Seminar on December 2-3, 2017 in Knoxville, Tennessee!
The CARES Seminar is intended for dog owners and trainers involved in working and sporting events, as well as veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Our goal is to provide high quality, cutting edge information that can help you improve the quality of life for all dogs, with an emphasis on working and sporting dogs. Participants will learn about trigger points and their treatment, sports massage for canine athletes, strengthening of specific muscle groups, nutrition (including how to read food labels), and hip dysplasia.
The sporting and working events will focus on field trial and search and rescue. An overview of field trial competition and canine search and rescue training will be presented with relevant rules and regulations, training/conditioning for an event, and competition tips. We will also look at factors affecting performance, preparing for performance, and known injuries/conditions that result in withdrawing from a competition.
Live demonstrations will follow lectures, along with a question and answer session.
We have an excellent lineup of speakers and you won't want to miss this exciting opportunity to gain that competitive edge and improve the lives of these very special athletes! In addition, all the proceeds from this event go toward research in our Veterinary Orthopedic Laboratory to help enhance the lives of sporting and working dogs.
