Pacific Animal Wellness Rehabilitation Center (PAW REHAB) is a state-of-the-art veterinary facility dedicated to physical rehabilitation therapy for pets. We are seeking relief veterinary services with potential for growth into a part-time or full-time position for candidates with this interest. Our owner/Medical Director is a veterinarian with over 12 years of experience in veterinary rehabilitation therapy and acupuncture and over 20 years in the field.

We provide rehabilitation therapy for injured, debilitated, and post-surgical pets, with a focus on chronic pain management, mobility solutions, and fitness. Special interests include geriatric, neurological, and feline rehabilitation therapy. Some of our services include cold laser treatment, underwater and land treadmill, and therapeutic exercises for balance, strengthening, and proprioception. Our holistic approach to rehabilitation often includes both conventional and Eastern medicine including acupuncture and herbal therapy. The vacancy is two-fold.

 

Initially & primarily, the small animal physiotherapist position is as an employee with Vets4Pets, Guernsey, an established small animal practice with all the latest diagnostic equipment. At the main veterinary practice there are 5 vets & their nursing team.

 

The candidate’s place of work is the V4P Wellness Centre, just a few miles north of the main practice. It is a self-contained, purpose built centre, equipped with Burtons Underwater Treadmill, Westcoast Jacuzzi Hot Spa, a range of FitPaws rehabilitation equipment, a shower unit, & spacious kennels. The right candidate will be happy to work alone, but also within the Wellness Centre team which includes a Veterinary Surgeon Acupuncturist & a nurse/hydrotherapy assistant.

The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (Penn Vet) is looking for a part-time certified Rehabilitation veterinarian (CCRP/CCRT) to expand our growing Small Animal Rehabilitation Medicine Service. The primary purpose of this position will be to provide clinical care to patients in the hospital (post-surgical and non-surgical) and on an outpatient basis. This will include collaborating with faculty and residents of other services, as well as teaching 4th year veterinary students on clinics, through case rounds and consultations. We currently have electrical stimulation, class III & IV therapeutic lasers, therapeutic ultrasound, shockwave, PEMF technology, GameReady, land treadmill and various agility equipment for therapeutic exercises. We are currently doing renovations for a dedicated space with plans to install an underwater treadmill and have a quiet treatment area for acupuncture. Acupuncture certification is desired but not a requirement.
