Ideal candidate’s qualifications should include: Minimum of two years veterinary experience including patient care, client communication and technical skills, word processing, digital records/practice software, RVT license/credentials. Experience and/or certification in canine rehabilitation therapy or interest in pursuing certification is highly preferred. Experience in a related veterinary specialty (surgery, neurology) may also apply. Offering full or partial sponsorship for rehabilitation certification training and mentoring.

About the position: The veterinary technician, rehabilitation assistant or canine rehabilitation practitioner will work under the supervision of our DVMs to perform and implement the doctor’s rehabilitation therapy plan, provide nursing care to patients, utilize technical skills, communicate with clients and to assist the veterinary doctor as needed. Sessions may include therapeutic exercises, bodywork, underwater treadmill therapy, patient and room prep, client education, assisting in taking and recording digital notes during rehab sessions and consultations/rechecks or other duties as required. You will need to have excellent typing, computer and word processing skills. Familiarity with Mac and digital veterinary records is preferred. You’ll have an established full-time schedule. Our staff is expected to meet the demands of the clinic’s schedule, and work effectively and efficiently with the doctors and support staff — as well as be able to work independently.
We work with many debilitated patients of all sizes so the position requires physical strength and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Who we are: Pacific Animal Wellness Rehabilitation Center (PAW REHAB) is a state of the art veterinary facility dedicated to physical rehabilitation therapy for pets and providing personalized care and the highest quality of service and standards of medicine in this field. The owner/medical director is a veterinarian and certified rehabilitation therapist with over 15 years of experience in veterinary rehabilitation therapy and acupuncture who implements the highest standards of practice and safety. Our certified rehabilitation therapy team is composed of two full-time veterinarians and RVTs.
What we do: We provide animal rehabilitation therapy for injured, debilitated and post-surgical pets as well as fitness and conditioning for the working dog or canine athlete. Special interests include geriatric, neurological and feline rehabilitation therapy. Some of our services include therapeutic cold laser, underwater treadmill, land treadmill, acupuncture, homeopathic remedies, and therapeutic exercises. Our holistic approach to rehabilitation often includes both conventional and Eastern medicine including acupuncture.
