Registered Veterinary Technician – Physical Rehabilitation

The Veterinary Medical Center at The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbus, Ohio is currently looking for a full time registered veterinary technician (RVT) who is also a certified Veterinary Rehabilitation Assistant/ Veterinary Nurse/ Practitioner (CCRA, CCRVN or CCRP). We are seeking an individual that is team-oriented and has excellent communication skills with fellow colleagues, clients, and the referral community. Our Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Service has been steadily growing since we implemented our services in July of 2018. Our current team consists of one board certified sports medicine and rehabilitation veterinarian (DACVSMR – Canine), one CCRT veterinarian, and a CCRVN technician. We are looking to add another team member who will help us continue to grow our service while maintaining our excellent rapport and quality of care with our wonderful clients and patients. Our caseload is high, and consists of a mixture of orthopedic cases, neurological cases, geriatric care, soft tissue injuries, and a large number of agility/working dogs.  

The ideal candidate has a strong history of previous experience working in a physical rehabilitation service (assisting the staff veterinarian and seeing cases independently) and is dedicated to practicing the highest quality of rehabilitative services. She/He will be charged to help expand the rehabilitation service by providing exemplary care, while leading community outreach and marketing efforts to referring practices. In addition to exercise and manual therapy, our rehabilitation service utilizes underwater and land treadmill, NMES/ TENS, Class IV laser, shockwave, acupuncture, PEMF therapy, and regenerative medicine. This position will be responsible for servicing out of hospital referrals as well as in hospital cases. Certification in canine rehabilitation (CCRA, CCRVN, or CCRP) or didactic training is required.

Ability to be licensed in the State of Ohio and subject to a successful background check.
