Service Coordinator/Technician – Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

We are pleased to announce the opportunity to work in a newly created role as a Service Co-ordinator/ Technician within the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation service at Massey Vets. You will be the key contact for the service and will co-ordinate and facilitate high quality, efficient and timely support and coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and case management within the service. The position liaises extensively with Veterinary Hospital staff, veterinary students, referring veterinarians and clients. You will be required to display a high level of professionalism, excellent customer service, and represent the Veterinary Hospital and Service appropriately and effectively in your regular and timely interactions with the internal and external community.

We are seeking applications from qualified Veterinary Nurses or Veterinary Technologists, with a strong interest/passion for this service area. You will ideally hold additional qualifications in physical therapy/rehabilitation (i.e. Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner/ Technician), or be enthusiastic about working towards this. Upon joining our team, the successful applicant will work closely alongside our Board Certified Veterinarian (American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation) and clinicians from all services in the care of referral, community practice and outpatients. On a daily basis, you will work alongside our current Nursing team in our Companion Animal Hospital, overseeing the physical therapy of inpatients and outpatients. Conditions commonly treated include neurologic, orthopaedic, traumatic, sports performance and working dog injuries.

You will be expected to work an average of 37.5 hours per week and provide day-to-day care and treatments to inpatients and outpatients requiring physical therapy/ rehabilitation. You may be required to partake in an on-call duty Nursing roster for companion animal services. You should have well-developed organisational skills including the ability to co-ordinate workflows, determine priorities, meet deadlines and effectively balance competing clinical and administrative demands in a professional manner within a busy environment, be enthusiastic, motivated, service-orientated, have a genuine interest in undergraduate education and possess excellent communication skills.
